  • Breezy, wrap-around veranda, serene patios and garden in the historic residential location, perfect for sophisticated travelers looking to get away from the hustle and bustle daily life. It is within walking distance to town, sparkling beaches, bike paths, and restaurants. Century House completed a total renovation in 2013. If you are a fan of the show “Wings,” you may find Century House sign or facade familiar. Executive producers chose Century House as their B&B when first visiting the island in 1989 to scout locations. In the following years, scenes of the inn have often been featured on the show.

“Century House is the oldest continuously operating guesthouse on Nantucket!” – Historian, Edouard A. Stackpole

“Best of New England, Editor’s Choice” -Yankee Magazine, 2012

“Among the many places to stay, some are historic, like the 1840s Century House on Cliff Road, the island’s oldest continuously operating guesthouse. Traditional inn charm-substantial buffet breakfasts and afternoon tea-mixes with modern amenities, including high-speed Internet and WiFi access.” The American Lawyer

“The inn, which Forbes.com once put in its top-five list of American summer inns, is a short walk from downtown and sits on a wedge of land…boasting a beautiful wraparound porch, with hydrangeas, pansies, and geraniums enfolding the entire place in a veritable floral rainbow. It is classic island architecture, with white picket fence and a delightful sitting garden populated with Adirondack chairs. The breakfast buffet is a bountiful affair of berries, fruit, granola, and other things healthy, bought fresh daily….” – Boston Globe

“If you find yourself charmed by a visit to the Century House, you won’t be the first…One glance at the wrap-around veranda, grey-shingled facade and outdoor patio where guests eat breakfast…, and you won’t want to leave, either.” -forbes.com

“Century House [best location in town] located a couple of blocks from the bustle of town on Cliff Road, fits the mold, with weathered shingles, white picket fence, wraparound porch and planters overflowing with hydrangeas, geraniums and pansies.” -Rhode Island Monthly

“Arriving on the ferry, we looked down onto a busy dock full of people waving hello and saying goodbye surrounded by mounds of blue hydrangea, small buildings covered in weathered shingles and some of the world’s truly astonishing yachts. The welcoming of Nantucket appeared to be as beautiful as we had heard… we grabbed a cab at the end of the dock for a quick lift with our luggage to a charming wide white porch dripping with flower baskets and covered with small tables and chairs partially hidden by thick green flowering vines. Behind the charming porch was our home for a few days, one of the oldest inns on Nantucket” -travellady.com
